This is a phase-III multi-center open-label randomized clinical trial of 4,120 individuals between 23 weeks, 0 days and 35 weeks, 6 days gestation with gestational hypertension or preeclampsia without severe features randomized to antihypertensive medication to a target blood pressure (BP) of \<140/90 mmHg or to no treatment for non-severe hypertension \< 160/110 mmHg (usual care). The primary endpoint is an adverse pregnancy composite comprised of preeclampsia with end-organ damage, medically indicated preterm delivery \<37 weeks 0 days gestation, fetal/neonatal/infant death, or placental abruption.

The proposed study, "Check, Monitor, Control Hypertension in Older African American Adults," is a randomized clinical trial designed to improve blood pressure control among African American adults aged 55 years and older in the Greater Houston area. Hypertension disproportionately affects African Americans, contributing to higher rates of cardiovascular disease and stroke. This project aims to improve clinical and behavioral outcomes through a 24-month intervention combining pharmacist-led counseling and Community Health Worker (CHW) support.
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if the drug RT-001 works to reduce high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It will also learn about the safety of RTN-001. The main questions it aims to answer are:
Does RTN-001 lower blood pressure in patients who have uncontrolled hypertension? What medical problems do participants have when taking RTN-001?
Researchers will compare RTN-001 to a placebo (a look-alike substance that contains no drug) to see if RTN-001 works to treat uncontrolled hypertension.
Participants will:
Take RTN-001 or a placebo every day for 12 weeks Visit the clinic about once every 2 weeks for checkups and tests Keep a diary of their symptoms and all medications that they take including RTN-001
The study will be a multi-center, randomized clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of using the Zona Plus handgrip therapy device compared to the use of an auditory relaxation therapy for treatment of high blood pressure and hypertension in subjects who are not currently taking antihypertensive medications. Half of the study subjects will also be randomized to record blood pressure at home throughout the study.

The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of albumin versus routine care on hemodynamic response and stability in pre-eclamptic patients during cesarean delivery. The hypothesis is that volume replacement with albumin guided by stroke volume variation (SVV) using a ClearSight-Acumen (CS-A) monitor, before cesarean delivery (CD), improves hemodynamic stability in preeclamptic patients with severe features compared to routine care, under neuraxial anesthesia.

The PHA Registry (PHAR) is a national study about people who have pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). PHAR collects information from people with PAH and CTEPH who are cared for in participating PHA-accredited Pulmonary Hypertension Care Centers throughout the U.S.
PHAR will determine how people with PAH and CTEPH are evaluated, tested, and treated, and will observe how well these participants do. The goal is to see if people with PH are treated according to recommended guidelines, and to see if there are certain factors that can lead to better or worse outcomes.
PHAR will include information about people with PAH and CTEPH in the U.S. who are seen at participating PHA-accredited PH Care Centers. PHAR contains data about patient care and outcomes. Specifically, data in the PHAR includes information on diagnosis; clinical status; socioeconomic status; diagnosis test results; body size; treatment information; interest in participating in clinical trials; family health and social history; and information about smoking, alcohol, or drug use. Participants are followed over time, and provide updates such as changes in therapy, how often participants need to go to the hospital, and survival. Such information may help healthcare providers provide better care.
Severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) is associated with a 20-30% mortality rate and significant disability among most survivors. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that 2% of the U.S. population lives with disabilities directly attributable to TBI, with annual costs exceeding $76.5 billion.
Current treatments are largely ineffective because they are instituted after irreversible damage has already occurred. By the time intracranial pressure (ICP) increases or brain tissue oxygen tension (PbtO2) decreases to harmful levels, it is often too late to reverse or repair the damage. A computerized method has been developed that can predict these injurious events ahead of time, allowing clinicians to intervene before further damage occurs. The goal of this proposal is to test these predictions in real time.
The first phase of the project (Year 1) involves setting up the informatics infrastructure, with no patient interaction. In the second phase (Year 2), subjects, through surrogate decision-makers, will be enrolled in an observational study where data on intracranial pressure and brain tissue oxygen tension will be collected, and the prediction algorithm will be tested for accuracy. Clinical management will follow standard care protocols, and no additional interventions will be performed.
Approximately 120 individuals will participate in this study at the University of Chicago and Ben Taub General Hospital in Houston. Data collected will include both the electronic medical record and data from bedside intensive care unit monitors. The electronic medical record includes demographic information, injury characteristics, laboratory values, and imaging data, while the intensive care unit monitor provides real-time vital signs such as intracranial pressure, brain tissue oxygen tension, and mean arterial pressure. These data will be securely stored in a research computer database.
Efforts will be made to contact subjects or their caretakers at 6 months to follow up on recovery. This research aims to improve patient outcomes by providing predictions of further brain injury, with the potential for future interventions to prevent permanent brain damage.

Patients are being asked to be in this research study because medical researchers hope that by gathering information about a large number of children with pulmonary hypertension over time, their understanding of the disease process will increase and lead to better treatment. Investigators believe that pulmonary hypertension in children is different than pulmonary hypertension in adults and this study will help us understand those differences.

This study seeks to develop the evidence for a sustainable, community-partnered, multi-level health system strategy to improve blood pressure control. Two team-based approaches are being tested: 1) a medical model of remote BP management (RBPM) alone, and 2) RBPM plus a social model with a community health worker (CHW). These 2 strategies are being compared with a standard community screening program with referral to primary care.
The study investigators are interested in learning more about how drugs, that are given to children by their health care provider, act in the bodies of children and young adults in hopes to find the most safe and effective dose for children. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the PK of understudied drugs currently being administered to children per SOC as prescribed by their treating provider.
